Hall Gate House

Situated within a traditional London terrace, the project attempts to increase the interior living space of the house through a new basement excavation, and a rear ground floor and loft extension. Structurally, a new house is built within the existing four walls, producing an independent and robust new shell. A double-height library connects the basement and ground levels and provides visual interplays between each side and the other.
